ability score increase:
When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You can't raise any of your scores above 20.
age:
Candyshifters are elemental creatures and thus do not age normally.
alignment:
Usually good aligned.
Size:

speed:
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages:
Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign.
race features:
- Creature Type. You are an Elemental.
- Candy-Shift. Due to your elemental nature, you have a natural ability to shift form. As a bonus action, you can change into one of the other sugary states for one minute. Once you've transformed, you cannot change form again until the time runs out, or you become unconscious, where you'll revert back to your natural form. Your abilities and stats change depending on your current form:
- Syrup/honey. This is your natural form. While in you natural liquid state, you have the following abilities:
- You have resistance to bludgeoning damage, but vulnerability to fire damage.
- Your strength score is lowered by 4.
- You don't gain any benefits from wearing armour.
- You can innately cast Gaseous Form on yourself, a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While in Gaseous Form, you cannot shift from your liquid state.
- Caramel/Chocolate. You turn into a semi-soft state. While transformed this way you gain the following changes:
- You gain resistance to cold damage.
- While in this form, you become edible. You can use your action to share a piece of you with an ally, healing them up to three times your proficiency bonus. You take the same amount in necrotic damage. This damage cannot be mitigated.
- Any bite or swallow attack against you is made with advantage.
- Meringue/Marshmallow. You turn into a porous, sticky form with a semi-solid coating. While transformed this way you gain the following changes:
- You gain advantage in Dexterity checks and saving throws.
- When you're being targeted by an attack, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on their attack. After the result, you can move up to half your movement speed, without prompting an opportunity attack.
- Candy cane/Rock candy. You turn into a solid state. While transformed this way you gain the following changes:
- You gain resistance to piercing and slashing damage, but vulnerability to bludgeoning damage.
- While in this form, you have natural armour equal to 12 + your constitution modifier.
- Your movement speed is lowered by 10 ft.
