Aarakocra
A winged people who originated in the Southern Continent before the Age of Promise. From below they are often mistaken as large birds. They have many shared characteristics with their more primative avian kin; such as fastidious upkeep of their plumage, and a tendency to build nests around the mating season. Aarakocra are known to mate for life, and as such will not often pair up with those outside their own race. Lithe and nimble, your average height is 6' to 6.5', and your weight is somewhat less than average humanoids at an average of 150 lbs.

Talons. You have talons that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6+ your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. Wind Caller. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Gust of Wind spell with this trait, without requiring a material component. Once you have cast the spell with this trait, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have of 2nd level or higher.Swiftwing Aarakocra. Your Charisma increases by 1.
Charming Song. Your ancestral love of music grants you proficiency in Performance. You also gain Friends as a cantrip you know, and can cast it without use of material components so long as you are performing. Casting the spell in this way removes the adverse hostile affects of the spell. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus.
Tawnywing Aarakocra. Your Wisdom increases by 1.
Hard Bargain. You have learned the best ways to barter, always trying to get the best deal. You gain proficiency in the Persuasion skill. When haggling you can choose to grant yourself advantage in the interaction, you can do this a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down until you must complete a long rest. You also gain Distort Value as a spell you can cast, you can do so once without expending a spell slot, you can't do so again without completing a long rest. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have 1st level or higher.

Swiftwing Aarakocra
Denizens of the Wildmere Jungle ever since their ancestral oasis was consumed by the monster threat some thousands of years ago. They prefer the tops of the canopy, and their songs can be heard for miles. Their flighty nature makes them generally unfit as scouts and fighters to push back against the horde. Despite this, they are popular among others living in the jungle for the levity they bring. They are often known for their lackadaisical good nature. Their long lives are filled with a love of music and travel, following wherever the wind blows. Their vibrant plumage comes in a variety of colors. Common appearances are that of:parrots, hawks, or even larger breeds like the secretary bird. Once intrepid adventurers, their ancestors got caught up in a terrible storm and washed up on the shores of the Northern Continent. Away from the overflowing resources of the south, the wayward members of the flock learned to be careful with their supplies. Families fill their 'nests' with coin and assets for their nestlings, which are passed down over the ages. "You're as watchful as the Tawny" is a somewhat common saying, meaning someone who closely watches their coin and/or pays attention to favors owed and performed. Their vaulted banks are filled with years on years of accumulated generational wealth. Their plumage has grown more adjusted to the earthy and rocky terrain of their home. Usually hues of faint blue, brown, black, cream, or white. Common appearances are that of: jays, finches, and pigeons. Something about adapting to their new home has drastically shortened their lifespan over time. They only live to be between 45 and 50 years.Find your way!
